On further reflection, I realize that while fixing 1437510 would be a great improvement, it doesn't actually solve the problem I'm having with Beru. The point of dimming the screen is (I assume) to alert the user that it's about to lock, so they can prevent that if they desire. But taking preventative action will still result in an undesired page change. (This situation will occur much less often, but it's still there.)

So: Are taps that undo the dimming supposed to go through to the active app, or should they be trapped by the system? And if it's the former, how can an app tell if the screen has dimmed?

I have a fix proposed for that, but I don't really agree with the fix. You can see my last comment on the bug for reference.
