If you're using the stable overlay PPA [1], no - we're releasing the
same code to the PPA and to 16.10.

That sounds like a bug, ubuntu-app-launch basically does the same that
clicking on a launcher or dash icon does.

We've done away with the -mir suffix as there's no non-mir session any
more - just install unity8-desktop-session.

I suppose you saw some videos from Popescu [2] - all of that is
generally available, but incomplete and/or not enabled by default. It
will hopefully Just Work™ when we think it's ready - and we'll ask for
testing when we're almost there.
