Re: Zim Feedback and Suggestions

Hi ZIM List!

I am new here. Some days ago i initialy contacted Jaap to clear some
details. From now on i will use the bug reports and the mailing-list.

To share my first steps with ZIM below my first post.

Okay. I researched and found two possible reasons:
 - Different char sets (ASCII, ISO-8859-15, UTF-8), i converted them to
to UTF-8 and the situation gets better. But in addition, number two:
 - One file was `buzzword_overflow.info'. I attached that file so you
can examine it personaly. There are binary chars in it. ZIM stops
displaying the content of all files after this file was selected
   for editing.

By the way, the file `buzzword_overflow.info' is a result of a very long
business meeting which I participated some years ago. After a long time
i could not listen anymore - and voila, the reason was a buzzword
overflow that happens to my brain. Later I made a printable version
with a blue blackground which can be held up during never ending
meetings with business managers. ;-)

What i am meaning was the possibility to refer to code (program text,
css stylesheets, automaticaly written logfiles) that displays _actual
recent data with changes_ without having to reload it manualy into the
zim text file. And there is a) no need to edit them and b) maybe this
would be a serios problem. So, all i prefer is that it will be
displayed, parsed, converted, exported and appears in a printings.

Besides that, i remember REMSTATS of Thomas Erskine. He made a Perldoc
documentation for his software which has the pathes of your special
compile root folder in its documentation. I.e. you ever have _your_
environment documented.

You know: Good documentation is:
 a) documentation which writes itself
 b) documentation which updates itself
 c) documentation which representes it in different targets,
but is only once in the system!

Okay, i did not open a bug report. But as above the solution was found.
Nevertheless, feedback can come from the mailing-list. Maybe it was
discussed earlier.
