If you wait a bit hopefully we will have a proper installer for zim
0.48 soonish. See this mail:

To use the new version you either need to run it from source. To do
this you set PATH to include the python and gtk versions installed by
the 0.46 install and then start zim with "python zim.py" in the source
directory.
