I don't think that it's xorgs concern, it seems that it's a kernel
problem. The touchpad is not recognized as Elantech's device and the
driver sniffer fallbacks to standard psmouse driver?

I'm quite busy now, but I'm planning to debug psmouse-base.c as soon as
possible, hopefully during the next week. These are just shots in the
dark.. let's see if I hit something ;-).

The bug has been reported and others have also requested tips for
debugging the problem:

I still have a quite good feeling about this..
