Regarding the commit #307:

I am not an expert on this topic, but maybe it makes more sense to use

_CRT_NONSTDC_NO_DEPRECATE
_CRT_SECURE_CPP_OVERLOAD_STANDARD_NAMES

instead of 

_CRT_SECURE_NO_WARNINGS

on Windows. By the way, I googled for an explanation why did they depreciate the POSIX layer but didn't find any, apart from random statements that they are freaking monopolists trying to lure programmers in making code less portable.
