Sorry if I re-open this thread... but an idea...

1) HD screens 1336x768 are quite common on laptop these days, and
   probably diffused at school

2) KiCad is perfectly usable at this resolution but for a few icon hiding

Why not permit as an option to have smaller icons? That would be really
useful for small/economic laptops...
