Hi Jeff-

I've pushed a patch to step by the grid size without moving 
perpendicular.  It does still avoid the nearest grid lines because I'd 
like to see that this doesn't cause unintended issues in Eeschema before 
adding the extra step of calculating the nearest in the common key 
handler.  If all seems well, I'll push the second patch this week.
