Re: Joining openshot
Shane,
Thanks for your enthusiasm. I am working really hard toward a release of
OpenShot. We have many important tasks that lie ahead of us. While I
appreciate the UI concerns and ideas, I can't justify spending time
reworking the themes, buttons, and timeline.
We would love for you to help out with OpenShot, but we have to determine in
what capacity you want to help us, and are able to help us. If you are
mainly interested in helping with the User Interface, then we have a few
screens which need to be worked up in glade. Some specifications are
located in blueprints on LaunchPad (although many of the details still needs
to be determined).
1) Export Video Screen
2) Key-Framing Screen
3) Various Property Screens
For now, OpenShot will continue to use libGlade, until our 1.0 release. At
that point I would be comfortable migrating to Gtk.Builder, and re-working
some of the existing UIs.
If you are set on using Gtk.Builder and working on a tightly integrated GTK
theme project, then maybe OpenShot isn't the right fit... at least right
now. If any of these other tasks sound interesting, we would appreciate the
help.
Thanks,
-Jonathan
