I can't promise till I see it and show it to others on the Scratch Team. But I think that it's very likely we will agree to it. Scratch is free (as in beer) and mostly free (as in speech). Can you send me more information / details about the agreement?

The unique license, by the way, was put in place because of the relationship between the Scratch software and the Scratch website. The application uploads projects to the website where they are "played" by a Java based Scratch player. We released source that includes everything but the code that uploads to our server. Releasing all of the code (and allowing modified versions of Scratch to upload code to our server) could be problematic, since the website's Scratch project player might not know how to handle projects made with modified versions of Scratch. We wanted to avoid that potential for confusion.

We also wanted to maintain control over the name / identity of Scratch and prevent others from calling modified versions by that name. If there is an approved license that would address all or even some of these concerns, I might be able to pitch it to the rest of the team.

If so, I'll forward it to the powers that be. If not, we may need to punt.
