quick update:

I finally narrowed things down and found what was causing the 'sudo'
issue.  It was indeed an issue related to the ISOmaker scripts,
specifically OSmaker.

I am currently rebuilding the base tarball, and then will rebuild the
ISO and setup things from there!!
