Agreed.  But it won't it also flag every { and } that's not escaped by
a backslash?  If so, the script is in error.

Let's take an example.  Edit your po/pt_BR.po file.  Look at line 227.
  It has msgid "{\\covertitlebox}".  That doesn't require translation,
so copy the same string to the msgstr value.  Now when you run your
script, it will say:

po file: po/pt_BR.po has Errors:
	msgstr "{\\covertitlebox}"
	msgstr "{\\covertitlebox}"

This is incorrect as the braces should *not* be escaped by backslashes.
So, if it should *not* be translated, then it *won't* be in a msgstr and therefore won't be a false positive, right?

If someone erroneously translates it, it can be removed in trunk, which will sync to LP, fixing the problem.

This gets to the question of ensuring strings that should not be translated are not translated, I think :)
