Re: Meizu MX4 (Arale r6), impossible to use the phone, serious problem using touch screen

Hi Peter,

I sent back my phone some days ago to use the Meizu warranty service. Now I'm waiting for a response (my phone is never fell down).

As wrote by Ajay, in Italy you can contact the Meizu customer care from this url: http://assistenza.meizu.it I think this service works just for Italy (but I don't know). Also, in Italy there's the official Meizu Mart store at this link: https://www.meizumart.it/it/ where you can find some contacts.

For first, before you send back the phone to Meizu, open a ticket here: http://assistenza.meizu.it

Regards,

Marco

This for sure is a hardware problem and probably with the digitiser. I have already dispatched my phone to Meizu for the same problem

    email : info@xxxxxxxxxxxx

the address for Italy is as below :

    company: Le.ali srl

    street: via provinciale pianura 20b

    zip code: 80078

    city: Pozzuoli (NAPLES)

    phone number: +390818666045

    country: Italy

As stated by Meizu, it does not guarantee that this fault will be surely repaired under warranty, they have to verify the phone.. A Return Merchandise authorisation form will have to be filled up, which can be obtained from the company.

I do not know the fate of my handset yet, hoping for the best.

Ajay

I finally managed to succeed in installing stock android on my Ubuntu Meizu and... the keypad is a hardware failure rather than software (doesn't work on android either). I will be returning the unit to Meizu. though where to send it is a mystery at the moment.
If anyone has an address for returns, I would be obliged.

Hi John,

thank you for your answer.

I saw that if I remove the protection shield from the screen (plastic shield installed on the screen) this problem it's partially solved. Infact, now I have a problem with the bottom of touch surface, I can't press anything in this part. I decided to reset the phone, but I'm not able to press the "continue" button from the display. Now my phone is totally unusable.

I searched on internet for a solution, and it seems that many MX4 are affected from this problem. Some MX4 launch apps randomly by themselves, like mine. This happened after I removed the protection shield (I made a video of this issue, similar to this one: https://youtu.be/azNK63maBxM ).

Now I have a problem like the one showed in this video: https://youtu.be/T4LJhkyk-oU the bottom of MX4 display doesn't work, but in my case the "home" button works, but not the screen bottom.

Right now I'm stuck at the first step of restore procedure (where you can choose a language), and i can't go forward because the bottom of the display doesn't work. Now my phone is totally unusable.

What can I do?

Thank you,

Marco Graziotti

    Ubuntu does not update silently.

Assuming you are on the default settings, there has been no OS
update for some weeks (The next is due soon). It will, as always,
    require your action before installing.

Application updates are similar, but more frequent. Without
knowing what applications you have, it is impossible to know when
the last one was. Again, however, your action is needed.

So it seems any problem you have is unlikely to be the result of
    software updates.

There is a factory reset option in the settings if you wish to
reset. 'Wiping the cache' is an android-ism.

Thank you guys for your answers,

but I think I was not able to explain the problem.

I said that I have two MX4, used by two different people.
These phones have the same problem and in both it started in
        the same day (15 november).
So, I don't think it's an hardware issue, in addition my
        phone never fell down.

I don't understand why I have this problem.
Maybe there are updates that we received during the day that
didn't require our approval? Something like a "silent" update.

I see a strange behaviour from the phone, for example if I
connect via usb the phone to my pc with ubuntu 15.10 the
        problem seems mitigate, why?

There's a method to wipe the cache? how can I restore my phone?

        Thank you,

            Hello,

I don't have any issues with my MX4 when it comes to the
touch screen. All apps seem to open correctly. I would
assume you may well have a faulty MX4.

to use the phone, serious problem using touch screen

            Hi list,

I have two Meizu MX4 (Arale r6), from yesterday (15
            november 2015) I
have a problem with the touch screen. I can't answer to a
            call, when I
try to open an app it seems like the touch surface is
            shifted, for
example: if I touch with my finger an icon in the bottom
            of the display,
the OS open an app placed at the middle of the display.

What did it happen? The other MX4 is having the same
            problem since
yesterday, but in this second case it's not happening always.
Are there any updates that we received during the day
            that didn't
require our approval? Why do I have the similar problem
            in two phones?

Can I send to you a syslog or dmesg? In case, how? And
            how can I restore
my phone? I can't use it like this.

            Thank you

            Marco Graziotti
