This may be so , but the main point is that when you click shut down you are going to shut down , and not restart , the caption is just *wrong* . Of course it's not that big of a deal , but many things aren't that big of a deal and still should be handled with thought , just out of principle .I'll argue that the 60 sec timeout popups are better than the current two in one situation . If there's two entries Restart and Shut down , and each has its own timer it's possible to click on whatever you like to do and forget about it , whereas now you're obligated to make two clicks . Not to mention that it's way more intuitive to have restart as a separate entry and not put it as an unimportant addition . People do restarts after all.If you're just going to forget about it, aren't you usually going to be leaving the computer? A shutdown would be more apt in this case anyway.
Also I want to raise a question as a user of Ubuntu : Why is there no "are you sure" dialogue for Suspend or Hibernate ? At least once every week I click one of those by accident (I did it yesterday again) and that's a lot for an action that's very routine and shouldn't be causing any frustration . Yes , they preserve work , but that's half the problem the "are you sure" dialogues warn about (the other half is turning the computer off (in whatever mode) as a definitive action in the work session) .
