Hi Phill!
Thanks for your engagement :) As far as i know (from
linuxwireless.org) at a certain point broadcom released to open source
their codes. There are some, technical but not copyright restrictions
regarding older chips - therefore b43legacy is somewhat limited
(encrypting pswds or so (?) ). But anyway . . .
I remember when i set up a Dell with broadcom as well for my son,
there were only jockey-gtk to get the needed stuff for recognizing and
making work the wireless (on the LiveCD - 8.04 probably).
