Re: Proposal to improve communication and make more efficient the inclusion of new branches.
Hi, Fabien,
Indeed I also prefer to use homogeneus platforms for all the project, but
there's one problem: runbot is not available openly for everyone, only for
partners. This means an entry barrier for anyone who wants to use official
platforms, so I don't blame anybody for searching for open alternatives.
For example, very soon I'll be driving spanish localisation to the next
step: automated tests for main localisation functionality, but if we depend
on one of the members partnership to run these tests, I prefer to use
Travis CI or something else to do it. Maybe a middle solution is that you
enable a special access on runbot for these kind of projects (localisation,
community branches and so on), but I think there's only one way to do it:
create an standard procedure for everyone that wants to join, with the
corresponding evaluation for your part, and being publicly informed, so
that any newcomer localisation or project knows how to deal with the
standard platform.
Regards.
P.S.: Please, don't take my direct style as agressive one.
