Hi,
Is this still beta?
If you were asking about what stage are we at right now? then yes, we
are still in the Beta and did not yet hit RC.
So, does beta stop?
https://lists.launchpad.net/torios/msg02028.html
Is RC the same as 'the very last beta?'
RC = Release Candidate means:
We have finished 98%-100% of EVERYTHING and only _*FINAL*_ QA/Testing
left to be done.
RC is the very final stage before the final release and after beta
stage. Between Beta and RC, there is the daily build stage, which we are
at right now.
Shouldn't Beta be a fixed point?
Alpha, Beta, RC are milestones. These are just references and indeed
fixed points to indicate and refer to the progress of a release.
I was under the impression that we would release a Beta,
Beta has been released already and it is done. Beta is not one-time-point.
ANYTHING that is keep moving and updating = that is a daily build.
and then work toward a separate RC
To work toward the final stage of QA and Testing, that means we are
working on the _*daily builds *_to get them ready to hit the next
stage/level.
This is why I have been working towards an RC currently.
I know and I understand, but from this discussion, I came to realize
that some important concepts are not yet very clear.
That is why I am trying to make things clear and easier :)
We can simply ignore the RC, and just keep a beta until we release.
I just explained everything above and on:
https://lists.launchpad.net/torios/msg02028.html
I just wanted to have a sort of reference point, by leaving one ISO
as beta.
Again, please refer back to the above replies and
https://lists.launchpad.net/torios/msg02028.html as well.
The one and only reference here should be: daily builds.
Please, have a look at:
http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/
It is probably good to just name the current ISO as 'daily-build'
rather than Beta, or RC.
THIS ^^ what I am 100% sure that I have explained more than once
before/previously :D
I have asked that several times but perhaps it was not as detailed as:
https://lists.launchpad.net/torios/msg02028.html

I hope everything is clear now?
In summary:
ToriOS ISO should be: daily build.
Example
torios-13062015.iso
Check:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-gnome/daily-live/
And, if you go to:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-gnome/
Perhaps you'll notice the difference between 'releases' and 'daily-live'.
Releases means: a milestone has been released and it is done.
By the way, a final release is a milestone :)
Once you release 1.0, it is done and you don't release 1.0 say 5 times
and keep saying it is 1.0 because that is can't ever be.
Once you release a milestone, it is done.
So, after 1.0 is being released, we shall be back to the testing phase
and start to get ready for 2.0 and the first step would be?
Yes, the daily build stage.
With 2.0, I will make sure everything is clear and easy from the
beginning :)
