Landing team 20.03.14

Hi,

2 images since yesterday, we hoped for a promotion candidate, unfortunately, new blockers were found despite the 2 images passing 100% of AP tests (what we should celebrate still). There is a high chance for tomorrow to turn in DEFCON0 (no image promoted in the past 4 days) meaning that no landing impacting Touch not targeting to fix those should be able to enter.

#247:
* unity8, including the fix for the hardware volume key
* some updates for click scopes
* click new release
* webbrowser-app (crash fix)
* indicator-network architecture build fix
* download-manager crash fixes
* system-settings to build on all archs (and unblocking other packages)
* some other changes from the platform (glib, Qt, python-apt...)
* Not that the security tests failing are now fixed as per the other messages on the mailing list and test results.

#248:
- libhybris + android changes

-> as told in introduction, the 2 images have AP tests results running at 100% \o/ However, we have a list that enlarged in term of promotion blockers due to the quality of dogfooding test results.

** Blocking issues for image promotion **

* Upon upgrading to Qt5.2 the music app no longer plays the next song if the screen is off (Kevin)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/music-app/+bug/1292306
-> Investigation is under way, can be Mir not rendering, and thus blocking Qt event loop

* Alarms not going off reliably on recent touch images (Thomas S.)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-datetime/+bug/1295122
-> it was first thought to be due to deep sleep mode (which wasn't a regression). However, more testing with preventing that modda e showed that the alarm doesn't trigger either reliably even when screen isn't blanked or with a wakelock. Investigation with a better reproducer (but multiple people reproduced the failing case without clear path leading to that).

* Alarm ringing not going off when clicking dismissed and you have to reboot the phone to stop it. (Thomas S.)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-datetime/+bug/1295237
-> Under investigation.

Potential one:
* Upgrade issue from last promoted image (Alan/Sergio)
https://launchpad.net/bugs/1295170
-> It seems as well that other issues can happen like music-app not starting after the upgrade. However, not everyone is able to reproduce it (Dave and I tried to upgrade from the latest promoted image to latest proposed without any issue). Clearly needs more investigation.

** Issues to look at (not enough info/easy reproduction as of now to be on the blocking list today) **

* flaky test failure on calendar-app (Alan/Jean-Baptiste):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-calendar-app/+bug/1293489
-> The application is crashing on x86 with latest trunk, seems one way would be to revert it. However, the issue was downgraded on the non blocker list because we didn't get a test failure in the last 5 images. New Mir or maybe new Qt fixes helped on this.
-> We got a release for next image.

* unity8 crash when search in home and music scope (Kevin)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1294605
Depending on the amount of music data on the phone, it's quite easy to make it crash. The bug is related to an older crash with the same cause (pre-Qt 5.2). But it seems it's even easier to trigger on 5.2. Not reliable enough though for upstream to get a good stacktrace (all the ones we had were corrupted).

* random screen hanging up after a while (Kevin):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-mir/+bug/129041 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-mir/+bug/1290416> Seems that one is hard to reproduce (see discussion on the ML). Note that Dave didn't get any lock on #246, nor #248.

** Non blocking new issues since last promoted image (doesn't impact user experience or really rare bug) **

* messaging app flaky test (Bill):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/messaging-app/+bug/1293610
-> A fix has been released and will be in next image.

* sudoku-app has still one flaky test failure (Alan/Jean-Baptiste):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/sudoku-app/+bug/1294770
-> A fix is available, will get a release soon.

I'll let Lukasz guiding you tomorrow, see you on Monday!
Didier
