Re: E4.5 bricked, won't boot
Hi,

No need for a new bug report, it's a known problem with the power
management circuit on these devices and reported several times, for
example:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471913
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575683
One of the workaround recommended by the hw vendor is to apply the
procedure described by Pat earlier in this thread.
I've read some of the comments on those bugs and I haven't find any that
completely matched my situation (to be frank, I didn't read everything).
The main difference I see is that the battery graph on my phone is
entirely normal: no drop whatsoever, whereas most people report sudden
drops to zero.
Also, my phone charged quite normally and quite fast, as if it really
had to go from 40% to 100%, and not from 0% to 100%.
And finally, how can I be sure that 40% isn't my new 0%? Is there a way
to "calibrate" the battery and make sure this won't happen every time?
Thanks, Ubuntu support is just awesome!
Guillaume
