Re: [Ayatana-dev] Controlling the order of indicators

Sorry for such a delayed reply but... RamI would prefer to see your
idea implemented as an item which extends the clock menu, rather than a
separate indicator. We like the pattern of having the major indicators
be extensible, and this fits perfectly. If you're up for that, I can
arrange some more detailed design help for you, and Ted can no doubt
facilitate implementation :-)

Mark,

I agree. I was mostly trying to make it visually "look right" to me in the easiest way possible. I usedmy little indicatorfor some time but itmade my panel feel a bit ghetto since I couldn't line things up the way I wanted and I had difficulties compiling a custom indicator-applet.

What you propose is kind of what I ended up doing with the current Clock panel applet. It still feels wrong to me though that UTC is considered a "location" in the Clock as it's not somewhere I can physically go (if that makes sense) but it gets the job done.

I am interested in hearing more about what you have planned. I am having difficulties visualizing it with the way the current datetime indicator works in 10.10.
