Sorry to be "that guy" and to burst everyone's bubble, but it's Files.

A file manager is a tool that isn't really like other apps; your system
ships one and for the most part, you use it. More advanced users could
possibly install an alternative one, sure. But for the default tool,
"Files" is both simple and descriptive. It leaves no ambiguity as to what
the app is for when it comes to end users.

Other apps, like Midori or Noise, are of a different breed. That is, users
are more likely to install them on other distros or to consider
alternatives even on elementary, so the branding is more important here.

The executable is pantheon-files because it's the file manager app being
designed for Pantheon. It's just like Terminal being pantheon-terminal or
Calculator being gnome-calculator. It doesn't prevent anyone from using it
and it won't be confusing as typical users won't ever see the "pantheon"
part.
