Simple and easy solution, could be even a papercut for the Karmic milestone!
All that is required is re-wording...
Not using the word "reboot" , since it is a warning/harsh word for the
users coming from windows, The windows warning is usually "you must
reboot for programs to work properly."
Something which says. "the update version will be used on the next startup."
It means the same but it is more pleasant than "System requires a reboot"
So staying away from the word "reboot"
+
having the present icon , in the update manager and the reboot dialogue,
makes updates a more pleasant dialogue.
