A couple of months ago I was demonstrating OpenERP at a large swedish

12.04, and during the demonstration it became obvious that they
thought the HUD (Heads Up Display) was an important feature. Its a
desktop feature working fast with applications just using keyboard.
They had a criteria that all applications they choose should work the
same way and HUD was one of them.
well you can integrate with the HUD from a web app, and this is
something I might have a crack at implementing in OpenERP at some
point (but if anyone else wants to beat me to it then feel free)

there are various integration points for web based applications to
link into different parts of the Ubuntu desktop, like notifications,
HUD, messaging menu and launcher actions.
