Unity compatible has a range of values. For most applications there is
nothing they need to do to make the menus exported. They can also
choose to add things to their launchers or put data in the messaging
menu. Not all applications have reasons to use those, but they're
available for applications that choose to use them.
We've tried hard to make the APIs straight forward for doing those
tasks, so I'd like to believe it's an "easy programming task." But that
is most likely dependent on your experience, tastes, etc.
