Sorry for the late response, I'm referring to GNOME Online Accounts,
exactly the thing that UOA was built to replace. To the user they are
essentially identical (not really sure about the reasons that UOA and
GOA are still two completely separate projects). This is what you will
see when you select online accounts from Ubuntu GNOME, and in versions
of Ubuntu before UOA replaced it. This is why it particularly irks me
that ownCloud is not supported in UOA, as it has been in GOA for some
years (I believe it was the second type of account they supported, after
Google accounts).

Note, not developing a note app, simply adding sync support to an
existing notes app, probably notes-app that came pre-installed on the
phone. If I can easily get the required login details from the ownCloud
account, in a similar way that I can do so through GOA in my extension,
I'll happily add the syncing support myself.
