Re: Ubuntu Edge (the Ubuntu handset)

Clearly this is Canonical's first crowdfunding attempt and they lacked the experience.
They already let the MORALE and interest died.
2 weeks left and is now slowed down so much that will only get 1 or 2 M per week.
So we will only see 2 to 4M more (maybe even 5M if ).
They didn't even follow The 30% rule:
http://gigaom.com/2012/06/28/analyzing-kickstarter-what-succeeds-by-how-much-and-how-often/
Which you need to get as fast as possible in order to sustain the momentum / trust / morale of your fans, specially for the "biggest" one in history, where breaking all records ASAP by doing everything possible was not an option but a pre-requisite.

But that is OK, this happens daily to dozens of campaigns. So, since they lacked experience and let it die, It would be better if they just Canceled this Now and make a better attempt when they're really ready. Examine the Data and cut out what didn't work and approach it differently. Show that you can accept your mistakes but are not Quitters. If they want they can also re-launch this at their own website (which could save up to 1M in indiegogo fees).
Am sure some naysayers are going to say that "if they Failed then they should just Give-Up". But these people clearly don't understand:

Cheers.
